The Miss Florida Scholarship Programs is hosting two (2) Sweeps Competitions. These events will be on Sunday, April 3rd in Bradenton and Sunday, April 10th in Panama City. Each competition will provide an opportunity for additional titles to be awarded, allowing more young ladies to participate at the state competition.
We will be awarding Miss and Outstanding Teen titles. The number of titles is to be determined.
To become a candidate in the Miss Florida’s sweep’s competition, you must first complete a two (2) step process by registering at www.missamerica.org (Candidates drop down, Become A Candidate drop down) beginning with a $35.00 registration fee.
Miss Candidates will pay an additional fee when completing the second step of this process.
Outstanding Teens will pay an additional fee when registering directly with the Miss Florida Scholarship Program.
Candidates competing in the sweep’s competition are required to meet the eligibility requirements and sign the 2022 Local & State Candidate Application and Agreement prior to competing, provided by the MFSP after you have completed the registration process.
To become a candidate, you must:
Be between the ages of 19 and 26 for Miss Candidates
Be between the ages of 13 and 18 for MAOTeen Candidates
Be a United States citizen
Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain city or state
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local, state and national competition(s) in which you compete
Not be a candidate, titleholder, or representative of a competing program to the Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen programs
State Competition
If awarded a title (Miss and Outstanding Teen) during the Sweeps competition, you will be expected to continue meeting the candidate eligibility requirements as well as fulfill the job of the Local Titleholder and compete at the Miss Florida/Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen competition, which will make available additional scholarship awards and benefits while also providing you a chance to compete for the job of Miss America/Miss America’s Outstanding Teen!
The Miss Florida/Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen competitions will be held in Lakeland, FL the last week of June (20th through 25th). Your participation is mandatory for the entire week. All additional fees and expectations must be met prior to your arrival in Lakeland.
